Syrian British Cultural Centre

Providing a Vibrant Community

At the Syrian British Cultural Centre CIC, we are committed to supporting refugees, asylum seekers, and diverse communities through education, wellbeing services, and cultural connection. Together, we create a safe and vibrant space for growth, belonging, and opportunity.

Cultural Diversity

We celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Syrian and British communities, along with all refugees from diverse backgrounds living in Liverpool and surrounding areas. We promote mutual respect, cultural exchange, and inclusive community connections.

Community Support

We provide practical support, advocacy, and guidance to individuals and families—particularly refugees and vulnerable groups—helping them access essential services, overcome challenges, and feel connected to their local community.

Enriching Activities

We offer educational, cultural, and recreational activities that inspire learning, boost wellbeing, and strengthen community bonds—especially for children, youth, and families from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

£16,500 grant from the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust

We are proud to share that the Syrian British Cultural Centre CIC has been awarded a £16,500 grant from the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust to support our work with refugee and marginalised communities in Liverpool.

This funding will enable us to continue delivering vital integration, education, and mental wellbeing activities for families and individuals who have fled conflict and are rebuilding their lives in the UK. Through our supplementary school, peer-led wellbeing sessions, and inclusive community events, we aim to improve confidence, reduce isolation, and help people feel connected, supported, and empowered.

We are incredibly grateful to the players of People’s Postcode Lottery and to the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust for making this support possible. The funding allows us to respond to real needs in our community and continue to provide a safe, welcoming space for people to heal, learn, and grow.

Postcode Neighbourhood Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
